The Octo Beam RGBW took the classic pin-spot bar effect and added modern LED technology. However, as anyone who remembers using these original pin-spot effects ‘back in the day’ will tell you, it was the plain white beams, rather than the color gel-enhanced ones, that were the most effective. So, for our latest version of the bestselling Octo Beam we’ve included powerful white LEDs – not the usual brilliant white diodes, but specially selected warm white ones, replicating the classic pin-spot effect.

The Octo Beam WW is an eight head beam effect powered by eight 3W LEDs, and it’s these 2700-3300K LEDs which give the unit its distinctive warm white lighting effect. This unstoppable lighting unit powers out an array of tight beams in an all-white, halogen lamp style, effect – leaving your audience mesmerized by the pure lighting excitement it creates. For this reason, the Octo Beam WW works extremely well as a stand-alone effect as part of a more extensive lightshow, making it perfect for gigging bands – particularly if you’re in a rock band that needs an epic beam effect with which to mesmerize and wow audiences. LED pulse and strobe effects will also enhance your audience’s gig experience, working in sync with the music in Sound Active mode to add an extra element to your lightshow.

With a tight 3.4-degree beam angle, the Octo Beam WW produces concise beams of atmospheric white light, perfect for stunning the audience with a powerful blinding effect as the unit sends out intense shafts of light, up from behind the stage or down from above. The convenience of having eight fixtures clustered today is a winning element too; it’s easy to setup and tear down. The Octo Beam WW can be mounted both horizontally and vertically, while the functional mounting yoke allows it to be easily attached to a stand or trussing.

Three operational modes – Sound Active, Show Mode, and DMX-controlled – allow you to utilize the Octo Beam WW for all applications; whether you use multiple fixtures as part of a venue lightshow or a single unit integrated into your mobile DJ setup. You can also manually adjust the direction of each individual head, giving you increased control and making the fixture even more adaptable.

While in DMX Mode, you can choose between 1, 8, and 10 channel operation. The 1 channel mode lets you to select from twelve in-built lightshows and one random show, while the 8 channel mode allows independent 0-100% dimming for each individual spot. The full 10 channel mode builds on this functionality, but also offers control over strobing, with slow to fast and fast to slow closing options. If you’d rather not deal with the complexities of DMX-addressing, the UC3 Controller can also be used in conjunction with the Octo Beam WW as a basic control option. With the UC3 you can easily control blackout and strobing, as well select between Sound Active and Show mode, with a choice of any of the twelve built-in shows.

For large gigs and extensive lighting rigs, multiple fixtures can be daisy-chained via 3-pin XLR and IEC AC in/out connectors. You can link up to twelve units at 120V or 19 at 230V – with multi-voltage capability allowing for use abroad, making the fixture ideal for touring shows. Due to its low power consumption (a draw of 29W max with all LEDs on full), you can run the Octo Beam WW all night and it requires no duty cycle.
