In Frankfurt Three Heads Are Better Than One!

Taking place annually in Frankfurt, Germany, Prolight + Sound is Europe’s biggest trade show for the sound and lighting industry and ADJ has been a regular exhibitor for many years. Following a shake-up of the exhibition, this year the ADJ booth was located right at the entrance to one of the halls, dazzling visitors with pure lighting excitement from three new moving head models as soon as they walked through the doors.

Attracting ADJ customers and users from across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, Prolight + Sound provided a great opportunity to show off our latest new products. Every half hour a lightshow, programmed to music, ran on the stand, which fully showcased the vast collection of fixtures on display. This impressive show regularly attracted big crowds to the stand who were impressed with the latest range of cutting-edge products from ADJ as well as the creative way they had been programmed to each play a part in the awe-inspiring show.

An undisputed star of that show was the new ADJ Vizi Hybrid 16RX, which offers true three-in-one Beam, Wash and Spot functions. Powered by a revolutionary Philips® Platinum 16R MSD lamp, which has an output comparable to that of a regular 575W discharge lamp, the Vizi Hybrid 16RX is smaller and lighter than any other moving head in its class allowing for lightning fast movement as well as incredibly bright output. With a beam angle variable between 3- and 32- degrees as well as an inbuilt Frost Filter, it is capable of piercing beam effects, broad color washes and detailed GOBO projection, switching from one to the other in an instant.

Not only is the Vizi Hybrid 16RX powerful and fast, but a host of advanced features are packed into its compact body to allow new levels of creativity for lighting designers. A color wheel offering 14 colors as well as two independent GOBO wheels – one with 17 static patterns and the other with 12 colored rotating glass GOBOS – allow for a vast number of combinations. Motorized zoom and focus allow for sharp GOBO projection from any distance at varying sizes, while the advanced GOBO Morphing feature allows for smooth transitions between different GOBO patterns. Meanwhile, for distinctive mid-air effects, both 6- and 8- facet prisms are included, which can be combined for an impressive layered effect. Perfect for installation in all large venues, from clubs to churches, as well as for touring productions and concerts, the ADJ Vizi Hybrid 16RX is a powerful and flexible lighting tool that is sure to become a favorite of lighting designers across the globe.

Another highlight of the Frankfurt booth was the Focus Spot Three Z, a new moving head that was announced just days before the show and demonstrated in the flesh for the first time ever at Prolight + Sound. Powered by a 100W white LED, this landmark fixture brings powerful output and an advanced feature-set – including motorized focus and zoom. Perfect for mid-size venues as well as production companies looking for high-end features on a budget, this impressive fixture has everything lighting professionals are looking for in a Spot moving head.

The Focus Spot Three Z’s motorized zoom function allows its beam angle to be remotely altered between 12- and 18-degrees, while its motorized focus means that GOBOs can be kept sharp regardless of the projection distance. These advanced features coupled with a color wheel loaded with 8 colors and two independent GOBO wheels – one with 7 static GOBOs and the other with 6 rotating GOBOs – means that the Focus Spot Three Z offers plenty of creative potential. This is furthered by two 6-facet prisms (one circular and one linear) that allow spellbinding multi-beam effects to be created that are capable of filling wide spaces with color and movement. Ideal for large mobile DJ and event production companies as well as installation in medium-sized churches, clubs and theaters, the ADJ Focus Spot Three Z brings high-end features down to a new level of affordability.

Completing the trio of new moving heads that wowed the Frankfurt crowds, and also setting a new precedent in affordable lighting, the Vizi Beam RXONE sits at the opposite end of the Vizi RX range to the Hybrid 16RX offering a compact and powerful moving beam fixture. Fast movement, a narrow beam angle of 3-degrees and a powerful Osram® Sirius HRI 1R discharge lamp mean that the Vizi Beam RXONE is capable of producing impactful midair beams that can travel up to 100 meters!

Weighing just 20 lbs. (9.2kg) and measuring 9” x 11” x 15.25” (225 x 279 x 387mm), the Vizi Beam RXONE is both small and light, making it perfect for taking out on the road or for installation in venues with low ceilings. Despite its compact form, the unit still boasts an impressive feature set including separate color and GOBO wheels, a 16-facet prism and 16-bit movement. Ideal for anyone looking for a big beam on a budget, thanks to its impressive output and low price, the ADJ Vizi Beam RXONE is set to become a popular member of the Vizi RX family.
