ADJ’s Illusion Dotz 4.4 uses Kling-Net compatibility and a super-bright COB LED source to offer serious eye candy for the audience.

Kling-Net and Art-Net control protocols are changing the way we use our lighting fixtures, allowing us to control individual pixels and display video footage across our LED units. The latest addition to ADJ’s popular Dotz series is, in many ways, similar to the Dotz Matrix; with the brightness benefits of COB technology and the ability to control individual pixels both playing a part in what makes this new fixture such a must-have for lighting users of all kinds. The big advantage, however, is its Kling/Art-Net compatibility, plus the movement of a Moving Head.

A COB moving head fixture that offers smart, fluent movement, the Illusion Dotz 4.4 utilizes sixteen 30-watt tri-color 3-IN-1 (RGB) COB LEDs, mounted in a 4x4 matrix, to offer an ultra-bright light source capable of unleashing cool pixel mapping effects and incredibly vibrant color. Pan and tilt capabilities and a 15-degree beam angle mean that the Illusion Dotz 4.4 also offers you incredible, all-encompassing wash effects with which to submerge stages, dance-floors and audiences in vibrant color, while the fixture’s mesmerizing LED pattern effects also provide a focal point for your audience’s eyes. This makes the Illusion Dotz 4.4 ideal if you’re an all-day wedding host or DJ who wants to wash the dance-floor in deep color while the night gets going and then use DMX to compose spellbinding cross-panel patterns with which to wow your audience when the party gets into full swing.

If you’re a venue owner looking to have the Illusion Dotz 4.4 as part of your permanent lightshow, or a touring band wanting to improve its on-stage presence, the fixture is ideal for engulfing the stage in intense COB-powered light. However, it can also provide slow to fast strobing effects, which are ideal for bringing atmosphere to a band’s faster songs or injecting energy back into a waning crowd. For clubs and bars that need to wash the dance-floor but also offer high-energy lighting later in the night, this strobing offers mind-blowing effects that, when combined with the pan and tilt movement, create moving flashes of intense white light for a true super-club atmosphere.

In terms of control, the Illusion Dotz 4.4 offers you four operational modes: Auto mode, Sound Active mode, Master/Slave mode, and DMX mode – the latter of which offers three channel modes (12, 14, or 59). Even if you use the fixture in its basic Auto or Sound Active mode, the in-built programs mean that an array of cool moving patterns can be easily achieved, flashing across the individual LEDs for truly spellbinding effects. For those wishing to indulge their creative side further, DMX mode grants you control over each individual LED for endless possibilities regarding patterns and color, and with sockets for both 3- and 5-pin XLR you can link multiple fixtures no matter which cables you use. For even more advanced operation, including sophisticated movement and the ability to display video footage across the LED matrix, Art-Net and Kling-Net control is possible through the RJ45 in/out on the rear panel of the fixture. This allows you to import videos into your Kling-Net/Art-Net software and output this data into a Kling/Art-Net compatible fixture, allowing real-time video imagery to be displayed across your Illusion Dotz 4.4.

For an even greater overall effect, you can combined multiple fixtures to create a fully pixel-mappable LED wall, and, with PowerCon in/out, you can easily daisy-chain up to three units at 120-volts, or five at 220-volts. If you’re part of a touring act or stage production, this means that you can still daisy-chain multiple Illusion Dotz 4.4s while performing abroad.
