The Fazed & the Furious

New features see ADJ’s portable Fog Fury Faze offering venue-filling ‘haze’ effects without the excessive price tag.

At ADJ, we understand the importance of fog effects when it comes to enhancing your lightshow and creating pure lighting excitement for your audiences. On the other hand, fog can be overpowering – both for your lightshow and your audience. Different types of fog machine also have to be considered when you’re adding such effects to your setup; will you, for instance, use a haze machine or a faze machine?

What’s the difference between a Hazer and a Fazer?
The differences between ‘haze’ and ‘faze’ are numerous, and there are pros and cons to both; and while some may argue that the fog produced by hazers looks better and hangs longer, there are setbacks to using the more expensive of these two types of machines. Haze machines need no warm-up time, which is another plus, but in order for this to happen hazers almost exclusively require an oil-based fluid to be used. The drawback here is that the oil leaves a thick residue inside the fixture; an oil film which is difficult to clean and builds up over time, especially when installed permanently in a venue. On the other hand, fazers (essentially a hybrid of haze machines and foggers) require a normal fog machine warm-up time, but, due to using water-based fluid which leaves little residue, they’re easy to clean, making them ideal for permanent installs or repeat uses. The final clinching difference, however, is that hazers are up to four times more expensive than fazers.

Is the difference in quality really that great though?

Effects aside, we’ve included a number of features which increase the practicality of the Fog Fury Faze, making it a perfect faze solution, whether you’re a mobile DJ or entertainer, the owner of a bar or club, or a stage production company. Our special heating element design uses an oil-type transmission pipeline system, minimizing the unit’s possibility of clogging, while an automatic circuit cut-off protects the pump if the external fog fluid tank runs dry. Using the included wired timer remote (which has a reach of 25-feet), you can also choose when and for how long the Fog Fury Faze disperses its wide-reaching effects, allowing you to tailor your faze to suit the venue or your lightshow and deliver an incredible atmosphere for your audience.
